12 new solar plants planned for Australia

Earlier this month, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) announced that 12 new solar photovoltaic plants are set to be constructed in three states across Australia. Together these new plants will triple the amount of renewable energy Australia produced from solar farms.

An extra 480 MW of energy will be produced which is enough to power 150,000 homes, at the same time reducing CO2 emissions by about 1 million tonnes per year.

It is estimated that ARENA’s grant funding will unlock $1 billion of commercial investment and boost regional economies.
