Climate for Change feature

This week, the Fairfax press had been running a feature on global warming called Climate for Change in it's daily newspapers. The articles cover all aspects of climate change and range from the political to the practical.  The following articles may be of particular interest to teachers and students, especially those using the STELR Renewable Energy and Sustainable housing resources.

Glowing future for solar electricity

This features Martin Green (a fellow of the Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering) who is sometimes called the father of solar technology in Australia. It also features Professor Green's PhD student Mattias Juhl who is working on improving the production techniques for solar cells.

Seven ways climate change will transform your home

This article covers new research into energy efficient building materials as well as the changes to the types of appliances that might be in our homes in 20 years' time. This could provide interesting stimulus for students to get them thinking about energy use and sustainable house design.
